Features of the site
This site represents an effort to make the Glorious Quran and Ahadith available to as large an audience as possible.
Urdu and English translations of the Holy Quran are available. The Urdu translation enables the Urdu speaking community to get a glimpse of this beautiful Message. Through the use of colors in the Arabic text and in the translation (taken from Syed Shabir Ahmad published by Quran Asan Tehrik Lahore), it becomes easy to grasp the meaning of each Arabic word.
The English translation of the Quran (by Abdullah Yusuf Ali) may also be viewed. Abdullah Yusuf Ali’s translation is beautiful in its simplicity, and easy to comprehend even for a beginner.
The reader may select a Surah for viewing. Since a Surah may span a number of pages, links to all other related pages are available. Alternatively, the interested reader may view a Part (Parah) or even a page.
For members of the site, mailing facility is available. Just select the number of days after which you want to receive a page and give your mailing address. You will start receiving a page of the Quran everyday.
Ahadith, which represent the words and deeds of the Prophet Muhammad are a source of guidance for the Muslims. The following compilations of ahadith are available on this site:
i) Sahih Bukhari
ii) Sahih Muslim
iii) Sunan Ab-Dawud
iv) Malik’s Muwatta
The reader may select an entire compilation for viewing. The compilations are available in the form of chapters. The reader may read the entire chapter, or may select the option to view one hadith per page. Search facility is available, allowing the reader to search all the collections for the occurrence of a particular word or words.
For members of the site, mailing facility is available. You may select the number of days after which you want to receive ahadith, the number of ahadith you want to receive in a mail and the compilation from where you want to receive the ahadith.
This site is the first step … there is a long way to go.
